Tracker Record upgrade loop preview and save multi samples

Please add in Tracker in Rec mod loop playback and section saving to the preview as an alternative to cutting. This way, we can extract multiple loop segments from the waveform recorded and we’re editing working on in the same session.

Hey @zolapaz, welcome to backstage!

I’m not quite sure i understand what you mean? Could you elaborate?

Also, if you want to create a wish. You can do that here:

This makes some sort of sense to me. I think it’s a variant of slices. Split a file into sections, so that they can be edited or ‘called’ without destructive editing the main sample.

Or add an option to resample parts of a sample to new file on the fly in the sample editing window.

These would be useful, actually - save going the long way round rendering in the main window.

Is this right @Zolapaz ?

If not, slices will do what you need, but you have to manually loop them. There’s no loop repeat currently.

In the sample recording section, it would be beneficial to add the ability to preview recordings in a loop, as well as to extract and save multiple segments from the original recording as individual WAV files. Essentially, this would make the entire recording process non-destructive—unlike its current state. By integrating a forward-loop preview feature directly into the recording section, users could extract multiple samples from a single recording with high precision, setting start and end points across the audio spectrum while listening to the selection on a loop. Saving the content between these points as WAV files allows for repeated extractions from the same recording—a workflow similar to that found in DAWs like Cubase, Pro Tools, etc. Consequently, the various sampled segments—now in WAV format—become independent assets that can even be exported to other hardware devices that support WAV files.
