Tracker Plus 1.1.0 and Tracker Mini 2.1.0 Merged Beta

Hey man, sorry you’re having issues with the last update. From my recollection, it’s the first I’ve heard about any real crashes with this beta.

I’ve had this happen several times to where the screen freezes and the unit emits a buzzing/static sound.

Does it crash at random moments, or have you observed specific actions that cause the crash?

It also won’t power off and has to be unplugged to make it stop.

Yeah that’s a common sign of a hard crash. First steps I would take would be.

1. Load up your SD card, and either delete your “workspace” folder or move it somewhere on your computer to back it up. The workspace folder is your last auto-saved state of the project you were on the last time you turned off the Tracker. If it gets corrupted, it can lead to issues similar to what you are describing. Take Note that this should be done by removing the SD card and loading it up with the card reader and not over USB Storage on the Tracker.
   Once the workspace folder has been removed from the SD card, load it back into your Tracker, boot it up and create a New Project which will build a new fresh workspace folder.

2. If that doesn’t help, try downloading the latest firmware again at Tracker+ Downloads. Update the firmware again just to rule out any corruption when you flashed your firmware.

One last question; any chance that anything has changed as to how you power your Tracker since the update?

If you’re still having issues after that, I’ll create a proper Bug report with all the shared details

So I re-installed the beta shortly after I posted this and will report back on this in about a week or so. I’m assuming this is an isolated incident since no one else has reported any notable crashes so far. Thank you for the tips on troubleshooting, I didn’t clear my “workspace” folder but hoping that updating the firmware again will have solved my issue.
