I probably shouldn’t wade in here as a relatively new user, but the thread keeps popping up every time I come on this board, so my 2c before I mute it.
Even if people have things they’re not happy about, the kinds of histrionics upthread, e.g. “abandonware”, “unusable” are imho pretty cringey and in no way conducive to having a conversation about any issues. If a thread starts off pitched at the level of hysteria, it’s not going anywhere good.
Like, it’s just silly to call a device with an active public beta and ongoing communications from the manufacturers “abandonware”. It’s not helpful to try and shout down people who are happily using the device and are not having the same issues as if their actual experience somehow doesn’t mean anything.
In my time around these kinds of boards I’ve seen this kind of stuff a bunch of times. It feels like sometimes people think throwing their toys out of the pram this will get attention from the devs and therefore they’ll get their pet issues looked at. What it actually does is the opposite, aside from destroying the person’s credibility, it also sets up an antagonistic relationship that in reality makes it far harder to get traction for whatever issues they may have, whether with the devs or other users on the board.
Anyway, one feature I do really like is the mute function on these boards.
