Never understood the rationale of Polyend keeping releasing type B units as the standard of type A has been validated years ago (well before the mini was released).

Actually, there is no definitive standard when it comes to TRS, hence why we have the A/B/C mess. It would be up to all manufacturers to come together and decide which one to use.
Atleast C is pretty much extinguished at this point. But there still a few that use Type B as well.

The MIDI Association does officially recommend TRS Type A though. The MIDI 2.0 specs also lean towards TRS-A.

Do even the new Pedal and Synth units still ship with type B ?

Yes everything is Type B. I totally understand it, from a Polyend ecosystem perspective.
But even so, what i’d love to see in the future is:

• MIDI In to be A/B agnostic in the future (using Jakplugg’s solution)
• MIDI Out to be switchable (physically via a jumper/switch or digitally via a setting)

But this is beyond the scope of this request of course. So if anyone feels so inclined, feel free to create a feature request for future devices

What is the problem? People often search for the right cables or adaptors to interconnect with other devices and sometimes don’t even know that there is a difference between TRS Type A and Type B. The MIDI Association allegedly recommends TRS Type A as the standard. Official MIDI 2.0 specs also lean towards TRS-A, so newer devices often default to A.
