Hi all,
I recently picked up a Tracker Mini AE and have been enjoying it a lot. The complexity of the tracker workflow is very deep, it has been a lot of fun making so many variations of sequences with it. The overall build and aesthetic of it are quite nice, as well as it’s ability to create and sequence sounds. A couple of questions have arisen so far with my work:
I currently have it paired with an OP-XY and Ableton. Utilizing the multi tracking feature through the Mini via USB (28 in/2 out).
Sampling: When I sample from the line level input, I record samples directly to it, then load it into a project, I cannot seem to figure out how to playback a sample. I put the appropriate sample on an instrument track and sequence it on the timeline via specific notes (octaves) but it isn’t triggering/playing at all? I have been playing a Soma Dvina through it and it monitors correctly in the sampling page, records correctly, previews correctly, but then when sequencing, it doesn’t play back the sample. I have trimmed and set up the sample the way I want, adjusting volume and looping modes with it. I have it set to sample the left channel only as the Dvina is mono. Other samples from the XY also have not been playing back correctly, which is a stereo source.
Another question with sampling and utilizing the line in, I have set it to run to the two FX lines (reverb and delay) and it doesn’t seem to be routing live/recorded sound at all through these. After searching here in posts past, it does seem like this is an issue with detection and other things, I just wasn’t sure if that’s been solved yet, it is quite a bummer if this is still the case.
Secondly:
When multi-tracking over USB, it doesn’t seem as if the line in is on it’s own channel, or doesn’t have a dedicated output. It only is available over the master/main output (1/2) from what I can tell. Is it possible to change this or assign it to another channel. Or, is it possible to solo it on the master/main channel without muting other tracks out of the mix? I’d like the ability to have the line in on it’s own channel for recording/processing purposes.
If any of these question have previously been answered please link the appropriate pages, I appreciate your time reviewing this all, enjoy the day wherever you are.
