Tracker + How to use 32 midi channels ? (USB + DIN)

Hi everyone

I’m trying to setup midi over DIN and USB so I can use 32 Channels.

After selecting USB + MIDI Out jack in the ‘Config’ menu I confirmed that the connection worked and can see the Tracker + connection on my Mac.

However I can’t figure out how to address the USB / DIN port separately?

When I select instrument only 16 midi channels are coming up 51 - 66 M01 - M16.
How can I access the 16 for USB (U01 - U16) from instrument 67 onwards?
They aren’t showing up for me?
I checked the manual but couldn’t seem to find instructions on how to set this up.

Thanks!

You can’t. There is no separation between USB MID and DIN MIDI on the Trackers.

The Play/Play+ are actually the only devices i personally know that allows for that kind of separation.

I’m sure others exist, but i wouldn’t know about them

Thanks for your reply!

Is this a confirmed hardware limitation or would it be possible to add it in a firmware upgrade?

The Squarp devices (Pyramid/Hapax) are able to address channels on different outputs as well. Hapax has an abundance of outputs: 4x MIDI, USB and 4x CV/gate :exploding_head:

I don’t know anything about potential limitations, but I think it’s worth a try to create a wish for this.

Yes my Akai Force also has midi over DIN and USB so I’m surprised the Tracker + doesn’t have this as standard, especially if the Play + has it!
