Tracker+ 1.0.1 Open Beta

The manual is currently not available, but will be posted to the download section of the polyend website (alongside the factory content probably) soon’ish ™️.

A early version of the manual and other content is now available in the download section.

If you got any questions in the meantime, i’ll be more than happy to help

…either here (via a post or chat - post prefered so other people can see it as well) or if you are looking for a more realtime conversation, you can find me and fellow tracker lovers over at the unofficial tracker discord.

Thanks. I haven’t owned the original tracker before. What’s the suggested way to start learning the Tracker+ without any previous experience?

Since the Tracker+ builds on top of the foundation of the original Tracker, you can always checkout videos based around the OG Tracker and download the Manual for the original as well.

I think that should be a good starting point, as the workflow itself has not changed between the devices.

Still waiting on some minor revisions and more details on the PERC engine to the full manual, but we posted it up on the Polyend website, along with PERC patches.

OK, so i DL’ed 1.01 yesterday and was wondering why it didnt install it. Its because im not registered ?
It started installing, says “dont turn off the Machine for the next 30 secs” then came a weird greyish screen and then it automatically restarted and stilly says 1.00. Why do you have to participate to try a beta ? Anyway. Just wanted to be up to date with my machine.

Just got my Tracker+ delivered woop woop!!
Should I install this firmware on my OG Tracker SD card which has all my samples on it and plug into Tracker+ ?
Will i then still be able to use this same SD card in my old tracker? I don’t want to corrupt anything, but want to be able to access my old tracks and samples
Thanks!

Just filled out the beta application. In the meantime, I have been encountering a few freezes. I am still tracing the steps to reproduce the exact event, but it seems to be when editing a synth patch with the transport running.

With that said, is there a place to report bugs or shall I wait for my application to process?

Thanks,
Michael…

Hey Michael, welcome to Backstage

since this is a open beta, you are welcome to report any bugs you encounter in Bug :v:

Hi @dan.apeks , like any beta software please be aware that it can:

  • introduce new bugs that may lead to loss of work, data corruption, bugs and/or crashes
  • change the data format of the projects or other files, making it impossible to open them with an older firmware version

We advise everyone to backup all important user data before upgrading in general, and especially before using the beta firmware.

Also worth saying, we do not support “backwards” compatibility:

  • opening projects/files saved with newer firmware version on older firmware
  • opening projects/files saved with newer hardware devices (Tracker+) on older devices (OG Tracker)

We support only “forwards” compatibility, which is the opposite of what I said above.

Hope it helps.
