I grew up in the 1990’s era of rack-mounted effects - and they all had input and output volume controls.
Nowadays, almost any one of my pedals has more processing power than my entire 1999 rack – but ONLY my Polyend MESS provides simple “grab and turn” controls for input and output volumes.
I WISH OTHER MANUFACTURERS WOULD ADD THESE (Looking at you Meris and OBNE!).
Anyway, for those of us stacking pedals, the accumulation of gain is a perennial problem.
I hear you balanced and clear.
Using guitar pedalas on a pedalboard set up and keeping control over how volume levels interact within our sound blocks is important imho.
The Polyend Mess is soo nice since one can use it with an amp’s loop. Set the Polyend’s output to unity volume when off, so we can use pedals and then turn the Poly on and have unity volume or a boost in volume.
I began my Polyend Mess journey a couple months ago.. been growing my love for the sounds i have sculpture into better sounding user presets. Improving upon every sound prrset, just by trying/tweaking different fxs that enhance what i already had.
Sorry for the long story. I started on day one setting up theIPolyend’s input knob and Mix knob comparing the Poly being On and hearing it off comapred to my Clean Amp’s sound.
I matched the natural feel and sound of the Poly with no effects on, just tweaking the Input and Mix controls of the Poly versus my Clean Amps natural sound.
When i got to hear and feel at home with the way the Poly was processing my clean signal just like the amp could, I left those knobs permanntly at their levels, then i began sculpting the Fxs inside this gem of a tonw machine.
I just feel like a million bucks everytime I get new sounds that never thought of getting before. Thank you Polyend builders.
P.S. since my Mess is inside my amp’s loop i can also lower the Mess Output and raise my Marshall dirty channel to rock heaven safely without destroying my hearing. I rock with Overdrives, Fuzzes, Delay, Wah and the beautiful tone shaping the Mess provides.
I so appreciate that people see the “little things” in Polyend’s designs. And when I say little things, I mean those “Chef’s Kiss” implementations that don’t grab the big headlines. It’s those things that make all the difference to a device that stays with you.
