Synth Note Hold Feature Request

What is the problem?

If you play a note and then decide to hold it, you have to release the pad then hold down Shift and play the note again. It would be nice to be able to press Shift while holding the note pad and also have it latch. So latch can be shift->pad but also pad->shift.

What should this feature achieve?

Better spontaneous playability without discontinuity of the notes.

Are there any workarounds?

Not that I can find.

You can do this already if im understanding you correctly.

There’s 2 ways to latch notes right now. Hold shift and then press a pad or pads. The other option is hold down the pad or pads then press shift and then while shift is held lift your fingers off the pad or pads and then off the shift button.

That works, thanks. Still it would be nice if it didn’t matter what order you let off the pads.

Actually it would be nice if there was an option for toggle hold notes, because when I play live I dont want to stop playing and use both hands just to hold a note.

You mean like an auto toggle or something where each time you press a pad it stays latched and then when pressed again it unlatches without the need of the shift button? If so, that could be a cool alternative that maybe they can add as an additional option in the menu!

“Latch options” somewhere in the main or grid menu would be good to have.

Being able to pick between the current standard latch mode and a “Latch All” option would be a great addition, and even more if we were able to do so in a per grid section basis (different latch settings for each blue, yellow and purple pads) - also being able to save these settings along with the scene.

“Latch all” could probably work by leaving all consecutive notes latched, regardless of pressing shift again after the first note is already entered.

I believe this is the same as this wish - Drone toggle for Chord modes (or shift-hold voicing control)
