Synth Engine not inside the Play Plus

I tried updating my Play+ to the latest 1.3.0 firmware, with the DIRT engine.

I followed the steps, and I have every new features, but not the DIRT engine. And now that I think about it, I never had more than the VAP, ACD and WTFM engines, even when updating or factory reset with the SD Card files on the Polyend website.

I was wondering if anybody had a similr issue, or if someone has a solution.

Thank you very much !

Musically,

Sam.

Hey @polyghonemusic, welcome to Backstage!

When you are in the Synth Menu and see the 3 slots, make sure to click on one of them, this will get you into the actual „Slot“ for a synth and there you can change the engines.

I‘m assuming this, because this misunderstanding on how to reach all the engines, has happened a couple times before

Let me know if that helps :hugs:

Thank you for the answer, but I’m afraid this is not the issue unfortunately.

The synth engines are not showing up at all and are not available on the machine.

If I go in the main menu and then in Synths, i have ACD, VAP and WTFM, even after updating to v1.3.0. But ! because I installed the latest version, I have all the new features, for instance when you want to edit a synth patch.

It’s weird because i do have all the presets installed in the SD Card but none of the latest synth engines. I tried re installing multiple times, following multiple tutorials on how to install the udpates, even tried to re install the firmware from the ‘Play+ SD Content‘ file but none of it worked.

I guess it’s just a firmware thing ? but i couldn’t find any ressources or anybody who had a similar issue.

I don’t know if i’m being clear with the issue, or not, english is not my frst language so i try my best.

Thank @Sandroid for the answer.

Just to make sure, if you follow the video below, you don’t see all those engines / models?

If so, can you maybe record a short video clip of what you see?

yeah nevermind, i’m just dumb… i didn’t know you had to go inside a synth engine and then change the model, i’m so sorry ! And thank you so much.

Is it a ‘hardware limitation’ where you can load up to 3 synth engines in the same session ? So the 3 engines that shows up when you go in ‘main menu’ and ‘synths‘ are the one you loaded, right ? So by default it’s the ACD, VAP and WTFM, i guess. That makes sense now. Please tell me if i’m wrong !

Anyway, thank you so much for your time, and your help.

I feel so dumb right now !

Hope this thread will help people not reading the manual like me…

Lesson of the day: RTFM !

You’re 100% correct there. And I promise you, you’re not the first nor will you be the last to get confused about the synth engines. It happened to me on day 1 with the Play+ as well as many many other users

Yeah there is no need to be hard on yourself @polyghonemusic . As @Dann said - you are not the first and you won’t be the last.

Glad it’s all working how it should now and on the bright side:
For the next user we now have a video we can point to :flexed_biceps:

So by asking this question you’ve done future users a service :hugs:
