Currently if you want to make humanized arpeggios you would have to use multiple Tracks with the Micro-move effect applied. While this offers a great deal of control it requires a lot of direct programming and makes things like chord or key changes cumbersome.
Also, the Arp effect is not suitable for this task because it is directly tied to the tempo and it lacks both the humanized feeling and doesn’t offer enough control. But the Arpeggiator is a good example of how this could be built.
What is the problem?
There isn’t a concise, efficient way to sequence humanized arpeggios.
What do you want to achieve?
The addition of a new Step Effect - Strum. An arpeggiator that is not tied to divisions of the tempo but adjusts the time between notes presented through the use of a MIDI Chord effect. For example, S30 might indicate that the Root would not be delayed but each subsequent node in the Arp would be triggered 10 milliseconds apart. Like so:
- Root - instantly triggered
- First note - 30ms delay
- Second note - 60ms delay (30 + the 30ms offset from the first note)
- Third note - 90ms delay (30 + the 60ms offset from the second note)
And like the Arp effect, the direction could be Up, Down - maybe even Random could be neat.
Are there any workarounds?
Using multiple Tracks for sequencing.
