Got the step last week and as a standalone drum machine it’s great! However I’ve tried everything but cannot connect it to my PC. It doesn’t show in devices no matter what. I’m using the usb c and have plugged in direct and using powered usb hub. I’m trying to get my Cakewalk DAW to work as master tried different leads and any number of restarts. I see there has been some similar issues with other poly end products. My Dell pc has intel PCU as there was some thought there was a problem with AMD.
Forgive me I’m not massively tech savvy but I’ve had no problems connecting via midi to my Fantom/Deepmind/Drumbrute? Any pointers greatly appreciated thank you.

I’m on an Intel PC and have no issues with the Step being recognized in both Cubase and Ableton Live.
Are you by any chance using a USB hub, or are you going straight to a USB port on your PC?
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve tried both… direct into PC and into non and powered hubs. Tried various cables into the usb C connection. Has anyone else reported any issues?
Many apologies please delete this thread… I ordered a new powered hub and a new usb c and it’s working. All I would say is get a decent cable 10Gbps… my other cables are just not working.
