So I purchased my Mini about three weeks ago now and over the last few days the + ± -, buttons and the D-pad but not the center button, have gotten squeaky. I have tried adjusting the way I press the buttons but they just keep squeaking. I can hear it through my headphones sometimes.
This is a build issue that I think all Minis will suffer from in due time. Is there anything I can do to stop it? Maybe a silicone based lube or something?
@AnalogAmalgam Hi! Thanks for reaching out about this issue. Could you make a video of the squeaking? You can upload it to wetransfer, google drive, etc., and link it here
Thank you!
EDIT: Please try filming the squeaking of different buttons. The more the better
Okay I am uploading the button squeaking video now. I couldn’t make it do it real loud. That only happens when I stop paying attention and get really into a jam. Then out of nowhere super loud squeaks. I can hear it over the beat hrough my headphones. The headphones I use with my Mini are Sony MDR 7506, so they don’t block out much sound. I can easily talk to someone with the music paused and my headphones on.
@AnalogAmalgam Thanks for the video. All seems clear, we have to exchange your unit.
Please fill out the RMA: https://polyend.com/rma-application-form/
Once you do, I will contact you directly and arrange the whole process.
@AnalogAmalgam Instead of a lube, I’d recommend using the buttons a lot. Also, try moving the buttons up/down, left/right. Hopefully, the squeaking should disappear after a while.
