I am not sure if I miss something or if it’s a feature request :
I have created multiple patterns, and chained them in the song page (see capture). I use multiple time each of the patterns.
Now when I select one track of one pattern (a white square) : I can delete it, and it delete the content of my track on the pattern, and of course this apply to all my instances of the pattern.
Who actually use this feature ? I can do that in the pattern itself. I don’t see the point to be able to do that here.
Actually I think that it can be much more useful if I can enable/disable some tracks on the pattern instance !
Like this we can reuse the same pattern multiple times, but by enabling or disabling some of the tracks…
This is a useful feature and is used alot in the tracker realm.
Usecase:
make a new empty slot (this is actually a new pattern) with shift+screen button
Select and copy single tracks from different pattern to the new slot or copy the whole former pattern and delete tracks you dont want to have in there.
That way you can quickly build up some nice arrangements, fill-ins, drops, etc. without leaving the song mode.
EDIT: this is the same as disabling/enabling tracks. Just make a new pattern with the desired tracks directly from the song mode.
I, indeed, miss the copy/paste track into patterns from that page, and it makes totally sense ! I will use it !
I still think the enable/disable track of one instance of a pattern could be a good idea, to reuse parts of a pattern, without copy/paste it.
I will probably create a feature request about it.
