Smoothed pitch glide using the Tune effects in Perform mode

What is the problem?

Using the Tune effects in Perform mode (the red pads), the pitch changes are applied instantly, and sometimes you may want gradual changes.

What do you want to achieve?

Pitch changes are fun, for example combined with delays’ time. It would be great to have an option for gradual changes in Tune effects.

Maybe Shift could provide this option. The glide time could be a per-project setting in ms or also by note value based on the tempo (e.g. whole note, quarter note…)

It is well made in PO-33. User can record the FX lane with fun up/down octave changes and even edit patterns on top of that playing automation lane. Here’s some random vid with the demo (the second applied effect, ~0:10).

@ambivalence I have added the term “glide” (also called portamento or slide) because it is widely used in other synths and DAWs. This is what you mean, right?

About the gliding time, if there is a setting to define it, it would be good to offer not only milliseconds but also by note value based on the tempo (e.g. whole note, quarter note…)

glide at your fingertips is the thing that turns musical device into a true instrument for me, so fingers crossed!
