Hi -
I’m working with the editor renaming patches and so on, and here are two small changes that would be nice:
- When you initially enter the “dialog” to rename a song, the entire name is highlighted. However the focus is on the “1”. To most efficiently erase the name and enter another one, you can click 1 (deleting the whole name and replacing it with 1) and then go to backspace to delete the 1 and start over. If you do the more intuitive thing of scrolling directly to backspace, then the name is unselected and you need to delete all the characters one at a time. I’m wondering if it couldn’t just load with the keyboard focus on the backspace so you could immediately delete if you want to start fresh, as is the case with “New Song” or “Empty”. Or you could keep the whole name highlighted until the first character is selected, but that potentially becomes problematic for making changes to an existing name.
- If you are creating a song name and you make a mistake - let’s say you want to type “My Long Song Name” and you accidentally type “MyLong Song Name”, if you want to fix it you have to delete everything before “My” and retype it. It would be great to have a backspace AND a delete, and have the backspace be non-destructive, so you could move the char backwards through the name, insert the space where you want it and not have to type the rest over again.
Not sure I want to burn a feature request on these, but would be helpful when using the editor.
Thanks!
Michael
