Sidechain on individual tracks

What is the problem?

Sidechain is possibly the most used and abused effect, but can be extremely helpful on different scenarios.
Forcing it to the whole track (output) means that everything get sucked up.

What should this feature achieve?

Giving us the option to select specific tracks to get this effect (the Limiter sidechain in the stereo output) ON or OFF.
The idea could be setting the trigger as Track 1, and set ON or OFF on the others.

Are there any workarounds?

That would definitely be nice, if possible.

This just got me thinking - can the sidechain be incorporated into renders? For instance, can you mute everything but the synth and kick, render the synth part and bake the sidechain into the render?
