I recorded a video the other day about live sequencing / performing with the Polyend Synth and Play. I’ve shared what i’ve learned in this topic here on Backstage.

Here’s a slightly more polished one-take of the same jam.
Still made a ton of mistakes and it’s a bit long winded, but it was still fun

I’ve read that limitation is the key to great music creation, but with technology always removing barriers, music can seem limitless. I’ve realized my limitation may be time. I have a great collection of synths, but hardly any time to dig into them – I’m usually out and about with different jobs or errands. So I’m trying a new kind of workflow here. One evening, I stayed up and just sampled a handful of sounds from my E-MU MP-7 and chucked them all on the Tracker Mini. Over the next few days, I monkeyed with them on the mini and this is what I came up with. There are some default factory samples from the tracker in here as well as a drum break in the style of the OG Amen recorded by a friend.

I think this is a fun way of doing things, and I plan on doing more like it! See below for a link to the project file if you want it or the samples from the EMU. I love the old E-MU sounds!
