What is the problem?
As a producer who loves delays, I’d like to be able to to select for each scene which effect algorithm to use for send effects 1-3, so that I can use 3 different delays.
What should this feature achieve?
A new entry “Effects” in the Menu that allows for selecting which effect algorithm to use for each send effect slot in the current scene. (because it appears that most configuration related to scenes just sits in the main menu, with the exception of program change mapping).
Possible Values for slots 1 and 2:
- Mod
- Delay
Possible Values for slots 3:
- Mod
- Delay
- Reverb
Labels in the Mixer Pages change accordingly:
Old | New |
---|---|
MOD > DEL | Mod1▸Del2 |
MOD > REV | Mod2▸Rev3 |
DEL > REV | Del2▸Rev3 |
MOD | 1 (Mod) |
DEL | 2 (Del) |
REV | 3 (Rev) |
The Effect preset selector would then look just like the synth preset selector, with the ability to select the FX engine (Mod, Del, potentially Rev) on the left side. It would need to indicate the FX slot on top
FX Slot 1 | (Mod) | |
---|---|---|
Mod | mod preset name | |
Mod | mod preset name | |
mod preset name | ||
mod preset name | ||
Engine | Init | Save |
Having that feature makes it also simple to provide new effect algorithms, like comb filter, phaser, pitch shifter, distortion, overdrive, compressor etc.
Are there any workarounds?
No.
Any links to related discussions?
No.
Any references to other products?
- Elektron Octatrack (2 FX slots per patch, track 8 can be configured as master track with master FX)
- Roland SH-4d (select effect algorithm for each patch, for each send slot and for master slot)
