Sample Editor - Chorus improvements

Chorus in sample editor doesn’t give much of a chorus feel. It works really strange. Basic chorus works like this: 2 copies of original signal are placed with (for example) 5 ms delay and 14 ms delay from original signal. Also a slight detune makes it even better and more lush.

At the moment the chorus sounds like the instrument is placed into a steel bucket and it resonates.

Also what’sinteresting about existing the chorus is that when you increase voices numbers, there appears to be a octave up sound from the original sample.

This proposes a different way to apply chorus, as explained in the workaround section below

What do you want to achieve?

Sort of Roland 106 lush chorus effect

Are there any workarounds?

  • Make 2 copies of original signal (for example basic saw wave, 1 cycle)
  • Go into sample editor, change wave start position slightly (it detunes the signal)
  • Play this 3 instruments simultaneously and render them

(its kinda more like a supersaw, but if you add finetune lfo to detuned signals, there it starts to breath)
