Sample Editor – Add silence / dead-space

What is the problem?

Sometimes you want to add a bit empty space at the start or end of a sample, to be able to make a better fade-in or -out.

What should this feature achieve?

The ability to add empty space / silence somewhere in the sample.
Ideally you can define the length and position where to add it.

Are there any workarounds?

Place sample in a track [with desired space/slience] and render track to sample

Hey @gravedraq, thanks for the wish.

I would say sometimes you may even want to add some space somewhere in between.
Hence i’ve updated your wish a little bit

Probably this doesn’t fully solve the issue but to blend in a sample from 0 I have been duplicating the instrument and then increasing attack in the envelope as required (you have up to 8s in the OG tracker).

I found that this is the only way to smoothly blend in a sound as volume variation is not that smooth (no matter the number of steps) and can produce jumps in some situations.
