Reusable FX chain in recording screen

What is the problem?

When recording an instrument, we must use an external effects processor before the Tracker input.

What should this feature achieve?

The tracker should allow to configure an effect chain (maybe up to 3 - 4 FXs) in the recording screen to process the incoming audio in realtime, it can have simple effects but also advanced, like pitch-correction/formant shifter, amp simulation, etc. Focused on what a raw input should need without needing another device.

Currently the recording section has a plenty of processing power to take advantage of, since the only thing that is does is to capture audio.
This can transform the Tracker in simple FX processor unit. Like SP-404 or even better.
Effect chains can be saved as a file and reused in both recording (un-destructive) and sample editor (destructive).

This feature plays very well with the Polyend claim “Tracker … has everything you need to complete an album on one device”, so it is consistent with the design philosophy.

Performance, technical thoughts.
Aware of the Tracker processing power limitation FXs can be weighted by processing power, using a sort of budget structure.

Example: Total FX budget: 6 slots.
Pitch correction takes 4 because it is demanding.
So only 2 slots left to spend on FXs.
Waveform based FX can weight 1 slot.
Delay, reverb can weight 2 each.
I hope you get the idea.

Are there any workarounds?

Use devices other than Tracker.
