What is the problem?
Velocity FX (Vfx) conflicts with render/resampling workflow. When add Vfx to a step the instrument volume will be set to the FX value regardless of the instrument volume set on the instrument page. If several notes has Vfx set and someone wants to change the output volume of that instrument, the way is to put that instrument notes in a single track and control the output of that track in the mixer.
But, Because the limited polyphony of the Tracker, it embraces the resampling workflow. Therefore, a single track can host several instruments across different patterns, hence, the track volume will affect several instruments at the same time. So, the is no way to control the instrument with Vfx notes output volume other than edit each note of that instrument across all the project.
What should this feature achieve?
It should allow to set the Velocity FX relative to the volume value from the instrument page.
Possible solutions:
1- New FX
2- A config option (Per project, or global) to set the behavior of the Velocity FX
Eg: Velocity FX ------ Absolute/Relative
Should be taken into account other FXs that has volume automation (like Roll) for a consistent implementation.
Are there any workarounds?
Edit each note across the whole project.
