PureData Tracker Parameter Editor: Could this be used for synth engines?

I came across this video on YouTube recently:

This is really nice, but it allows for PureData control of the parameters that I find pretty convenient to alter on the Mini. However, the synth engine editors could benefit greatly from a one-page UI. Does anyone know if this would be possible, or is the menu diving aspect of “Edit Patch” something that restricts this type of control?
Additionally, is there any documentation that would aid in getting this all hooked up if it is possible?

This is neat and looks cool.

For those wondering - it’s essentially just a MIDI Mapping of all the available MIDI CC’s to control parameters on the Tracker. If you had a big enough MIDI Controller, you could do the same with actual knobs / faders etc.

This should essentially work for the OG Tracker, Tracker+ and Tracker Mini as the available Parameters are the same between the three devices.

Technically? Yes this would be possible… IF all synth parameters were accessible via MIDI CC or MIDI NRPN. Currently the synth parameters are not though. There is so many parameters that Polyend would probably have to move to using NRPN instead of CC, as CC is limited to 128 distinct parameters.

You can find all the currently available MIDI CC Mappings for all the Trackers in the Manual:

  • List of Performance Mode CC’s can be found on Page: 294
  • List of Synthesizer/Instrument Mode CC’s can be found on Page: 299

not to be that guy, but: 294 seems to be performance mode, and 299 seems to be synth mode.

none the less, thank you - it helps. i only have a mini, so hadn’t looked at this manual yet.

I need that kind of guy! :joy:

Thanks for noticing

Ah, that’s too bad, but it’s also kind of what I expected. The synth engines aren’t TOO deep to get a handle on, but they’re also not very immediate for sculpting sounds, so I was hoping this might have a chance.

But there are 16 MIDI channels, not only one.

Good point!
