What is the problem?
Tracker (and the other devices) don’t seem to have a real-time clock, which means that all samples, projects, etc. have the same time and date on the SD card. This makes it more difficult for backup scripts to know what to copy, and to figure out which samples are newer, etc.
What should this feature achieve?
The idea is to have a clock running while the device is on, so that if a user saves a project later in a session, it gets a different time stamp (same with samples, etc.). The time would be saved on power-off, so it then starts from the new time during the next session.
Device time wouldn’t actually represent real time, but it would still be possible to know what had been changed based on the time stamps (since changed files would be more recent than unchanged ones).
In addition, it would be great to be able to set the date and time in the settings. That way, a user could choose to set the date for longer sessions and get meaningful dates if they choose to do the work
Are there any workarounds?
There is currently a recent projects list, but that doesn’t help with backups or samples

None that I’m aware of

This is not an original idea, it’s based on a new feature on the M8
