Problems copy pasting or creating information when entire track selected

Very frustrating but if there isn’t already information in a note/inst/FX lane I cannot simply add it in by selecting the entire track and choosing an FX from menu and using encoder or sometimes even copy pasting from another track doesn’t work.

Kinda hard to describe.

If there is already note info on a track and no FX information, I want to add FX info, so I select the entire track with the FX lane highlighted, go into the menu and select FX and turn encoder. It’s not added in. So I have to individual per step add FX information. Now I can select it all and manipulate it.

I had a similar issue where I was trying to copy and paste note/inst/FX from a normal sampler track onto an empty midi track. And it pasted the inst and FX but refused to paste the notes.

It seems there are always some issues preventing me from adding entire track of information if it’s copy pasting or adding into an empty label from selecting in the menu.

Once there is info there I can select the entire lane and use encoder to change the value. But it never wants to just add it when it’s empty.

It’s very annoying obviously it’s much more time consuming to go through every single step and add note/inst/FX info.

Yes, that is definitely annoying though I can also appreciate the current implementation.

For example, if you have say:

SD
—
—
—
``

If you select those 8 steps and then use then encoder to change the FX1 lane, you wouldn’t necessarily want FX to be added to all 8 steps, just the BD and SD steps. Sometimes you would.I guess but not always. With that in mind I wouldn’t really want to see the default behaviour add FX to every step. Maybe it should obey the STEP setting in the Pattern? That would work.

But then there is no excuse for not being able to paste my notes from a sample track to the midi track in the video.

I haven’t seen that one but that sounds like poor behaviour if you can’t

On a similar topic, I really really wish that when you add an FX to a line it should remember the last FX number you entered so you don’t have to start from 1 all the time.
