I have the Synth and really like it. I find the workflow far more intuitive than other boxes I have, however, the sequencer is rather limited. Is anyone using the Tracker + with the Synth? I realize they have some of the same synths but was wondering what people thought of this combination and what your workflow looks like using these together.
Thanks!
Hi @wps52 , welcome to the community!
Tracker + is a complete standalone music production studio, although it shares some of the synth engines you also get PERC, a very versatile drum synth alongside the other 4 engines. You can always use up to 3 per project in addition to the trackers main sampling capabilities.
Its a very capable sequencer for building complete arrangements so a common workflow in conjunction with the Synth would be: Tracker+ as master, midi out to Synth, Synth line out to trackers stereo line in. This would make a very complete dawless setup.
You can sequence, doing sound design and even record and resample Synths live performance into the Tracker.
Hi Patrick and thanks for the welcome and also thanks for the detailed response. Exactly what I was looking for! So, Synth line out to Tracker input and you would sample the Synth to play along with the Trackers synths. Is there a way to transfer scenes from the Synth directly to the Tracker as on the sd card or is sampling the way to go?
Thanks again.
Not exactly, synth midi in to Tracker midi out to control the synth per midi notes programmed into individual tracks on the Tracker.
Synth line out to Tracker line in to hear and blend/mix the sound with the Tracker without additional hardware like mixers.
AND you could also resample a live performance on the synth while recording it to the Tracker and mangle it further.
Got it. Thanks again.
