Polyend Synth: Distortion effect

What is the problem?

Synth currently does not have a distortion effect, making some sounds (e.g. distorted acid bassline) impossible.

What should this feature achieve?

An additional FX, at least for the ACD engine. FX routing: insert would probably work best.

Are there any workarounds?

Using external FX is not a solution, as Synth has only one stereo out and 3-part multitimbrality (three synth engines and two outputs, if you accept mono signal).

Any links to related discussions?

Any references to other products?

I agree and think this would make sense as an added parameter (or three, e.g. level, dist + tone) in the ACD engine itself. There’s no need to complicate things in terms of routing or added sections (i.e. “Insert FX”).

I would love this.

It’s worth mentioning - if you want to help this request, you should put a vote on it

You can find that at the top of this post, to the left of the title

Personally, I’d be able to make use of a distortion (or bitcrush/bit reduce) effect on all engines, but if that is unfeasible for some reason, I’d be happy to have it on whatever synth engines it might make sense to include it on.
