Polyend repaired my Play+ in February. A potentiometer (volume) fell off (I really don’t know how). I’m grateful that it was done even though the potentiometer is slightly askew…I’m not that fussy and so I ignored it and didn’t want to do any more work. Unfortunately, the touch sensitivity of this potentiometer is crazy. When I’m in the menu to load a sample, for example, it keeps jumping to the volume setting. Sometimes it jumps back and forth between panning and volume. I noticed this even before the last update, but I’m relatively resistant to it. Unfortunately it is now quite often that it jumps to volume…sometimes not at all. It must be due to the slightly skewed potentiometer. Can I fix it myself or do I really have to send the play in (I can’t live without it even for two weeks .)
I just recently noticed that my Play’s volume has been jumping around. Started happening after the update
I could be editing with any other knob and it’ll jump to volume with the level jumping around. Up to that point I had my Play plugging into a power strip with the included adapter.
Realized later I had a free usb port on my Mac and made the switch. since then the volume issues have stopped
Ok so its a bug it think.
Before we move on and consider this a defect or bug, have a try with this:
Very gently, wiggle the knob in order to make sure it’s not in contact with the surface underneath. Sometimes knobs end up like that, which causes these kinds of issues.
