I wondered the same thing since I always thought that any firmware ending with letters indicated a minor update between major ‘whole number’ updates. But after reading what the Polyend Mess fw v1.1.0 addresses, it seems to add more functionality, so that’s the one I installed. Everything is working fine, and if desired, the sequencer stays off when going to new presets.
Welcome to backstage @david.kirkdorffer. Thanks for taking time with this very legit question. To clarify for both you and @Subtronik, the most up to date firmware will always be what is on the download page of the Polyend site. The 1.1.0 firmware you’ll find there is build 289
Personally any new gear I get no matter if it is Polyend or another company, I’ll go to their official website and grab the latest firmware and update. Apply the same idea as drivers for computer hardware. It’s a good practice
That’s great news. By the way, the randomize feature is what sold me on the MESS. If it didn’t have that I would have bought an Empress Effects ZOIA instead. I love having an effect unit that is packed full of features all in one box no matter the price so I don’t have to break out a laptop to do even more work to get my desired results.
