I have an issue using play+ (latest firmware) as audio and midi usb on a I7 Ultra laptop i bought recently, also use a amd ryzen 7 where everthing works as expected, but on the I7 only could after fiddiling with the usb and power settings could get usb audio to work but not the midi, which dont show up on the DAW (Bitwig) and on Pigments, anyone have a workaround or solution to it ?
TIA
Hey @parmdigital, welcome to Backstage!
Question: i‘m assuming you run Windows and this is two different setups / systems? If so, is it possible that the I7 system has the latest windows update installed? If that‘s the case, check this thread.
Yes, both win 11, two different systems/setups, will try the solutions on the thread, thanks ! It looks something with the usb ports/drivers on the system not on the play+.
Follow the driver/usb midi stack troubleshoot on the mentioned thread and checked with the avaible midi checker tool concluded that on the working system (amd) it did not have the new windows stack as for the unworking system it had it installed, so i searched for the play entry on the devices and it had the new usbmidi2 driver which i switched to usb audio driver (old one) restarted the play+ and it worked, as of now it shows on bitwig as midi controller and audio (wasapi). Thanks!
