I found, accidentally, that I could load the same sample to the pool multiple times and each time it is loaded into the pool with the same name making selection ambiguous.
There’s no point to loading a sample more than once.
Is this intended behavior?
I’m assuming the system allows this because it doesn’t keep any record of the original path for samples loaded into the pool and so has no idea that an identical sample is being loaded.
It can be useful to create sample packs which may well contain duplicates of samples used in other packs - since your SD may have plenty of capacity for those duplicates you might as well do it of you prefer using packs. (If you wanted to create a series of tracks with a shared sonic character that would work well.)
