What is the problem?
Why it matters:
In Performance Mode (or during any live chain playback), it’s often hard to quickly identify where I am in the track based only on pattern names like “A1” or “C3.” Since the pattern layout and numbering change from project to project, there’s no consistent visual cue for where key sections (like intros, drops, or breaks) are.
What should this feature achieve?
Suggested implementation:
Let users assign a color to a pattern (independent from track colors).
Display this color as a small colored bar or dot in the top bar, next to the pattern name.
Optionally: let the color show faintly behind the pattern name as a visual background.
Benefit:
This small visual cue would make live sets more confident and fluid, especially when moving through complex arrangements. It also gives a way to visually label patterns (like “green = intro,” “red = drop”) across all projects.
