Partial quantization of note selection as an offline effect.

What is the problem?

It’s nice to have the possibility now to input notes via the function keys below the screen on the mini.

While testing it out, I recognized, that the response of the buttons is not ideal for the task, though. While slapping in some rough melodies and notes works fine, timing-critical things like drums can be hard to nail down. Especially if one records things in unquantized with micotiming.

What should this feature achieve?

Therefore, a possibility to quantize a note- (or track-)selection based on a specified grid and percentage would be really awesome. That way one could correct minor timing issues while keeping things groovy.

I think of it as some kind of a simple menu selecting the wanted grid-division and percentage (and a possibility to preview the changes before commiting to it?).

Are there any workarounds?

One can, of course, record in stuff unquantized with microtiming and edit the microtiming values manually afterwards. A dedicated post-record-quantizing option would speed up this process tremendously, and therefore boost the fun factor of the tracker devices.
