ORBITAL

(programmed in C++) Orbital is a six-engine ambient reverb for vast evolving spaces, from vintage halls and shimmer clouds to spectral memories, metallic resonant orbits, worn tube echoes and aliasing choir textures, with smooth model-specific holds.

Description

Orbital is a six-engine ambient reverb designed for deep, evolving and highly individual spatial textures.
Vintage Wander creates a softly unstable hall with drifting stereo movement and subtle edge degradation.
Deep Shimmer builds immense floating spaces from diffusion, modulation and a controllable upper shimmer layer.
Memory Cloud turns the reverb tail into a slowly regenerating spatial memory with smear, movement and sustain.
Resonant Orbit combines a narrow metallic resonant core with an animated stereo environment moving around it.
Worn Tube Memory introduces softened bandwidth, tape-like instability, tube coloration and aged spatial echoes.
Trash Choir Shimmer transforms the ambience into a deliberately artificial choir of aliasing, pitch movement and damaged spectral layers.
Knob 1 selects one of three control layers, while Knobs 2 and 3 change two dedicated parameters inside the active layer.
A short footswitch press cycles through all six engines, while a long press activates the special performance function assigned to the current reverb.

Effects and controls

Effect LED Knob 1 Knob 2 / Knob 3 Footswitch
A. Vintage Wander No dedicated model color defined Selects Layer 1–3 L1: Decay / Length · Dry/Wet L2: Space / Diffusion · Tone / Damping L3: Stereo Wander · Edge Grain Short: Next reverb. Long: Living Freeze ON/OFF — new input is suppressed while the existing moving tail continues to evolve.
B. Deep Shimmer No dedicated model color defined Selects Layer 1–3 L1: Decay / Length · Dry/Wet L2: Shimmer Amount · Shimmer Tone L3: Cloud / Diffusion · Stereo Float / Motion Short: Next reverb. Long: Living Freeze ON/OFF — sustains the cloud while diffusion and stereo motion remain active.
C. Memory Cloud No dedicated model color defined Selects Layer 1–3 L1: Decay / Length · Dry/Wet L2: Space / Size · Texture / Smear L3: Regen / Sustain · Drift / Stereo Motion Short: Next reverb. Long: Living Freeze ON/OFF — holds the current memory structure while its internal movement remains alive.
D. Resonant Orbit No dedicated model color defined Selects Layer 1–3 L1: Decay / Length · Dry/Wet L2: Core / Edge Balance · Metal Resonance L3: Tempo Orbit at 80 BPM · Width / Stereo Complexity Short: Next reverb. Long: Living Freeze ON/OFF — sustains the resonant structure while orbit and modulation continue.
E. Worn Tube Memory No dedicated model color defined Selects Layer 1–3 L1: Decay / Length · Dry/Wet L2: Tape Smear / Memory · Tube Drive / Mid Focus L3: Wow / Melt · Age / Bandwidth Short: Next reverb. Long: Wet-only 1 kHz bass cut, smoothly morphed in/out over about 2 seconds. Living Freeze is not used here.
F. Trash Choir Shimmer No dedicated model color defined Selects Layer 1–3 L1: Trash-Choir Morph · Dry/Wet L2:Smear / Density · Choir-Alias Amount L3:Tempo Pitch Jump at 80 BPM · Pitch Range / Drift Short: Next reverb. Long: Wet-only 350 Hz–2.5 kHz band-pass, smoothly morphed in/out over about 2 seconds.

The short-press order is Vintage Wander → Deep Shimmer → Memory Cloud → Resonant Orbit → Worn Tube Memory → Trash Choir Shimmer → Vintage Wander
