What is the problem?
When you set a synth with pad mapping, you can send midi from an external sequencer to control the pads (benefit over sending raw midi notes: this triggers smart grid for the”followers”). Example: if configured pad mapping on C4, then sending C4 from an external sequencer will lit the corresponding pad. If that pad has “followers”, or a chord/arp/seq, this works like a charm. Problem: I also use the Synth as keyboard, and when I hit that same pad, the midi note sent to my external sequencer is the pad midi note, not the “pad mapping” note (C4).
What should this feature achieve?
We should have an option in page 2 of the Synths menu to configure if we want pads to send either: their midi note, or the pad mapping midi note (or both?). IMHO this is missing feature of the “pad mapping” feature.
