@a444hz, Please take a look at the recording of two overlapping samples from the Ambient Pop that I attached. We’re trying to understand the severity of the problem. Are these the kind of clicks and glitches you experience? 5415.zip (426.4 KB)
Yes. As I’ve stated all along, there doesn’t appear to be any sort of choke going on, or at least not enough of one.
Same thing happens with the Tracker Mini by the way, though you can deal with it a lot easier on that device with the off commands, and in fact is perhaps excusable on that device because of the nature and design of trackers (I’ve come across it on other trackers as well).
Straight samplers shouldn’t run into this problem though, there’s generally some choking mechanism to prevent it, like a microfade or something along those lines.
Most recent desktop sampler I used was the Lofi-12 from SONICWARE and you could push that device to the limit and it would still go smooth. Some samplers I’ve come across will still produce some clicks if you really push them, and depending on the sample, but generally they are click free simply because they have to be. It’s part of being a sampler, there needs to be that smooth playback as much as possible, regardless of the circumstance.
Hey, any news on this? I think I have the same issue. For me, it happens when I use a long sample with drone reverb. I have a project for this: piano-drone.zip (2.0 MB)
Thank you for your answer.
