it’s annoying. I play a lot of sliced samples on the fly, it’s part of my workflow. I hope for a fix soon.
this same behaviour is also affecting my tracker mini on firmware 2.01
Bug still not fixed? I can’t work with the tool for two weeks. No new updates?
@here We are sorry for all the inconvenience, but we are working on a hotfix as we speak
Thanks for all your patience and understanding!
I also experienced this, I tried making and rolling back and forth video.
Test one - roll from 1.0.2 and back to 1.0.1:
Test two - roll from 1.0.1 and back to 1.0.2:
I now turned it off and on, back to same issue on first video…
Hi
This is almost what I’d asked for many times.
Almost because after first note it locks track for recording new notes.
It’s funny because it happens only with Velocity recordings
I can’t understand it’s still in mess. It’s seems to be so simple to implement.
All this misunderstanding because this stupid OFF commands.
Wouldn’t be easier just to forget about them during recording?
And wouldn’t be easier to fulfil them manually after recording?
No, it makes live recording impossible, if it won’t capture the off and then a new track will be initiated as the note from the first has not ended.
Yes, I know, sequencing polyphonic synths for example, even on one track only may cause the issue you described.
From my perspective, every device based on tracker sequencing should send Note Off before every Note On to avoid issues with OFF commands.
The whole typical note in tracker contains a note command on the first step, empty spaces (sometimes a lot of) and OFF command at the last step. That creates a lot of misunderstanding, for example why it’s not possible to record a note in empty space of a track, because it’s a part of note between start and OFF. It’s easy imagine more complicated case when note ends (its OFF) is in next pattern!!!.
In my opinion the Overdub recording directly generates such an issue.
I must correct my prev post,
Currently Tracker sends Note Off immediately before every Note On without additional OFF command. The exception I’ve found is the first note after playback start.
Any update?
Looking forward for this. This bug introduced with the latest firmware update is a show-stopper for me
Fingers crossed they get this sorted soon…it’ll be an amazing machine when it’s running smoothly…
Using microtiming also make me realise my timing isn’t as good as I thought it was!
just got mine yesterday and updated the firmware, and wow i was thinking this was only for receiving notes from other/outside machines/midi sources…
Didn’t realize it affects live recording on the box itself, pretty disappointed, it essentially broke the only workflow i know. I might have to return this guy if its going to be weeks/months. Pretty disappointing.
Is there any update to the hotfix from the polyend team? I really want to love this box !!!
Where can I download the hotfix?
I bought this as trying something different from my Akai MPC Live 2, the purpose is the main device of the studio. My studio has been on standby for 2 weeks and I cannot afford that, the alternative is to pack this back in its case and get back to Akai MPC Live, as the current state is a defect OS.
I completely agree with you. The old version has some problems, and the new version has other problems. In the end, neither version is stable and both cause issues. Because of this, I have lost all desire to work on Tracker. I’ve been waiting for almost a month, but there is still no update. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I knew I had released a critical bug that prevented users from fully using the product.
Though this bug is marked with tracker and mini, all the discussion seems to be about the Tracker+. Just thought I’d mention that I updated to 1.9 on my original Tracker, and also will have to downgrade due to missing NOTE OFF from external MIDI Sources, just like the Tracker+ folks are reporting. I’m seeing it with and without microtiming.
