Instrument input mode

What is the problem? There’s currently no way to trigger individual instruments from the eight buttons beneath the screen. Adding this capability would make it much easier to build percussion patterns and perform beats or sequences on the fly using multiple instruments. This would complement Note Input mode, which is primarily geared toward melodic sequencing of a single instrument. What should this feature achieve?
