Not possible for live recording

It seems there is no way for live recording in the machine,or I cannot find it.?

Hi there, welcome to Backstage!

I’m not 100% sure I understand your question, but I think you are right: The Synth is just a, well, synth. If you want to record what comes out of it or record MIDI that will eventually end up triggering the Synth, you need other equipment along with it.

I just want that I can record what I play ,not step by step, this would be very helpfull for better articulation and amore creativ way,I thimk😀

I see. You need to record it to something else then. Just like if you did your creative articulation on a guitar or harp

I recommend you get the excellent TP-7 recorder from Teenage Engineering for just $1499. Yes, the price may seem a bit high, but remember, it’s aluminum, contemporary aesthetics, and it’s available in black. It’s not just aluminum and aesthetics it’s a lifestyle, your rhythm, your vibe. With it, you can record anything, not just the Polyend Synth, but even your voice.

P.S.
But seriously, I have no idea what you want to record there. This is a synthesizer (it’s not a workstation, not a groove box, not a drum machine, not a studio), and its main purpose is to play when you press buttons. Perhaps you meant a sequencer? The Polyend Synth has one. Carefully read the manual.

Yes it has a sequencer I know . it is a stepsquencer that makes the diference to a realtime sequencer,ok its not my piano I play direct to the daw:downcast_face_with_sweat: I thik other polyend machines has this feature right? so its not a big thing,so I wonder why the synth has it not.

I do not understand this kind of answer, because its a synth with asqeuencer, but with a poor stepsequencer , I know the manual.

So tell me specifically, what do you want to record?
What functions should the synthesizer perform? Provide an example of a specific synthesizer and a specific function that implements what you’re asking about. I honestly don’t understand what you want the synthesizer to record. It’s a synthesizer.

OMG yes it is a synth with a sequencer I only want to records my playing just notes in the wa you play it as you play for example on an Electron synth they have a realtime recording function ,understand? its not a big thing today alot of synths with a sq. has a.realtime recording function.

I think I understand you. You’re referring to a fully-featured step sequencer with recording capabilities similar to Elektron. However, Elektron is more of a multifunctional hybrid device rather than a pure synthesizer. The Polyend Synth does have sequencer functionality, but it’s strictly programmable, similar to the Moog Subsequent. Therefore, the feature you’re asking about isn’t available here. This is purely a synthesizer.

Okay thank you,I quit🥲

You can record into the sequencer. You switch the parameter in the SEQ section from play to record, put in your notes while playing live and then switch it back to play for it to repeat what you played.

Sorry if that’s not what you’re asking.

Yes that is what I want, but it only collect the notes not rhe notelengh rest etc.,maybe I make a mistake?

Hold shift button for rests

In the end it’s a pretty simple sequencer and not as strong as elektron or other boxes, but it does what it says it should do

I agree,its a good synth😎

Is it possible to set different note lenghth?
