No power for OG Tracker

Hi,

I recently purchased a used original Tracker. When trying to start the machine, I get a click (pop in headphones), a few flashes of light on the soft keys but nothing else. Nothing on the screen and nothing happens when keys are pressed. If power button is held to turn the machine off, I also get a click/pop. I have tried it with the original USB cable and plug and with other USB cables and plugs. I also have tried it with two different SD cards, although same manufacturer. I also have removed and inserted the SD card several times.

Is the machine just bricked or is there something else for me to try?

Sounds like a screen defect. When you hear a click , the machine does boot up correctly.
Try to test the following:

  • power on the tracker with the sd card inserted until you hear a click.
  • plug in headphones.
  • press sample recorder once.
  • slowly press screen button 1 (leftmost one).
  • you should hear the radio noise.

Edit: also press screen button 7 when hearing nothing, this is the monitoring. Forgot that.

Yeah, if you hear something, your display is broken (or the connector is loose)

I was able to get the radio sound from the tracker as instructed. Also soft keys lit up when pressed. No picture though, so it is a screen defect. Thanks!
