I just lost a scene that I have been working on because Synth did not warn me about saving it under an already existing scene name. This should be one of the basic features of anything with a save function, right? Very frustrating…
In addition to that it would be nice to have the basic operations like deleting and renaming scenes.
Renaming the scene folder directly on the SD card is working only partially as the old name is persisted in the scene settings file.
and also simple tasks like creating a blank/default scene or simply being able to assign an engine without having to choose a preset.
There are some rather peculiar UI choices in Synth that I’ve never seen before on any other synth
Use “Init” button (middle one in the scene menu) to create blank/default scene
I have a question: if I want to save the current scene (modified) to a new one, I usually go to save and choose a new random name, this makes me think to a new slot and that the old scene won’t be overwritten. But the manual says you have to choose shift+save to avoid overwriting the old scene. I’m not in front of my synth now, but…if it’s like that I guess I deleted a bunch of previous scenes since I’ve never used the shift+save option
