New scene quick switch freezes the device

Bug Description

If you try to quick switch from a changed scene into another, synth crashes, if you touch another grid button before answering the save dialog.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. switch synth on
  2. press scene button
  3. select scene p01 via grid
  4. change a parameter, e.g. C1
  5. press scene button
  6. select scene p02 via grid
  7. synth asks whether to save - don’t answer yes/no
  8. select scene p03 via the grid (should not be possible)
  9. Press No in the still open dialog
  10. synth loads p03, but the safe dialog is still there - now already the UI is not responsive anymore, but grid and sound still work
  11. press a grid button for hearing sound
  12. while sound is still playing, press No again in the still open dialog
  13. synth loads p02 (!) - UI is still not responsive - grid plays sound
  14. press No again in still open dialog while playing a sound
  15. synth completely crashes with a humming sound - you cannot even switch it off - you need to pull the plug…

I can confirm, same for me.

BTW is there an official way to report bugs in beta? I would have because it was the case in 2.0 beta as well, and this is sort of what beta testing is for.

Thanks so much for taking the time to report this bug. It is a known issue that was reported elsewhere and the PE team is aware.

Yes, there is a way to do that:
Click here - there’s a “Beta Bug” category where you can post bugs found in betas - with additional tags (‘synth’ in that case).
