New Play + Unit Switch ON problems (randomly not)

HI, I think I have an unexpected behave of my new Play + unit, at first I hook it up to my USB port of my PC as usual ever did with my previous units ( Tracker and Play and Synth ) but it did not work and Immediately thought that I received a faulty unit, then I changed cable and USB port on my back ( but it was a USB 2.0 one ) nothing, and so I used the USB charger provided in the box and It turned on just fine, I don’t remember how long I should keep the switch pressed but it worked. After that I flashed the new FW I plugged the unit again but this time via USB-C on my Macbook M1 and it swtiched on ok, BUT back on my PC did not, SO I thought that for some reason some USB ports on my PC are not providing enough power to the Unit to switch on properly, and I plugged it into my USB port 3.0 that has a Boost ( I got an Asus X99 II A ) and it worked fine..Except that it dod not at the second attempt back to the Play hour later, I took the plug out of the unit and put it back and like for magic it switched on, but I don’t understand how a USB port can work once and stopped providing power after a while.I don’t know, I’m keeping investigating with the hope that the unit USB port is not a faulty one, I will open a ticket for a replacement but could be annoying.

PC user here, so little I can help for Mac, but on PC there are power saving options that allow USB to fall asleep, which sounds great in writing but Windows sometimes has issues waking it back up.

Not sure if the first tries you did were direct to PC, but USB hubs cause issues so I would avoid that (it is stated in the manual that hubs are not supported).

Thanks Dann, First try was indeed an HUB but knowing the issues it can bring I connected as explained to my front USB port ect.. I forgot about USB POwer saving options.. I should look into this and see how it goes. Wil lreport back.

I did check my Power Management settings and there is no USB power saving enabled..today it did it again..did not want to switch back ON but disconnecting the USB-C from the Unit and plugging it back..don’t know what to think

Still disconnecting the USB C from the unit and plug it back make the difference like if if the unit is not switched ON frequently it loose the charge or I don’t know why it behave like this

Really sorry to hear that. If you haven’t reached out to support yet, that would definitely be the next step. On my end, the only time I had issue with the Play+ and power was when I was testing a hub.

Here’s the link to get started with support. Hope everything works out.

Good morning. This is basically what happens to me, with no logical explanation. Sometimes my tracker turns on, and other times it won’t read the SD card. I didn’t trust myself to spend the money to have it repaired; they say the problem is the SD card reader. That can’t be the case; if that were the case, it would never turn on. I’ve already replaced my SD card and run all the necessary tests without success. I’d rather not spend another 60 euros without solving the problem.
