The Multi function knob was broken off my Synth. Can’t pop it back it in to work. Any thoughts for repair or replacement?
Hey @cmcnutt54, welcome to Backstage! ![]()
You mean, the cap came off? Or is it the rotary encoder that came entirely off?
Yikes ![]()
Well, it looks like there are three little pins on the button of the button that go into the three little holes on the encoder, if you can put it back on and it still works then you should be fine. But sooner or later you‘re probably going to have to replace the entire encoder (whole knob with its base).
Which means either sending it in for repairs or opening up the device and desoldering / soldering a new encoder into it. I couldn‘t tell you right now what the correct replacement part would be.
But let me know what happens when you try and stick the button back on and what info you‘d prefer ( support contact info or me finding out what the right replacement part is).
Thank you for your assistance. I put in a service request on Polyend, haven’t heard back yet. I tried putting the encoder back in, doesn’t stay in and doesn’t respond to push commands. Only works when turning. So probably needs to be replaced. If you have any info on the part it would be welcome.
You‘ll probably have to wait till the beginning of the week, as they are closed over the weekends. But i‘m sure they‘ll get back to you.
Feel free to ask them if they can tell you the replacement part, if you feel comfortable enough fixing it yourself. If you do, make sure to let us know too ![]()
