Move/drag notes and selections up and down steps easily

What is the problem?

There doesn’t seem to be a simple way of moving a note or a selection up or down a step whilst leaving the rest of the pattern in the same place.

The user has to do a combination of insert and shift delete to adjust notes up and down.

What should this feature achieve?

Would be nice to be able to easily and quickly move notes and selections up or down.

You could make it so holding down the copy button and using arrow keys moves what ever is selected to the step above or below.

Are there any workarounds?

Currently you can do a combination of shift delete and insert both above and below the note to move it up and down

Yes!

Also, perhaps a CUT and PASTE feature (as opposed to COPY and PASTE) could make moving notes around easier without having to use SHIFT+DELETE and INSERT.

Just hit delete before moving your cursor but after hitting shift+copy.

Sadly after hitting DELETE, the cursor rarely ends up where I’d like it to. So it’s often a case of COPY, DELETE, reorienting myself and moving the cursor around, and then finally SHIFT+COPY.

Want to add that an easy workflow way to incorporate this would be by Highlighting the selection you wanted to shift up or down and using the Shift+Insert/Shift+Delete command
