Midi Out Beat Fill - Option for shorter note length by default

When using gear such as PULSAR23, which is an analog drum machine - I have to select all of the notes after beat fill to allow the drums to trigger properly. Usually I have to set note length of 0.25 to get a coherent beat. Otherwise the notes seem to be too long for it to recognize each trigger.

What is the problem?

Have to readjust note length every single time I try midi beat fill

What do you want to achieve?

To make it immediately choose the note length I set before pressing fill (maybe?)

Are there any workarounds?

Yes I have to change note length every single time I fill a beat, which can be frustrating when trying to create interesting mixtures of different selections and beat fill genre change quickly

Any links to related discussions?

no

Any references to other products?

Pulsar23 . It operates specifically by note length and the notes seem to overlap on default fill

If you create a first MIDI step with the desired note length, then the next steps you create should keep the note length you have defined. This is simpler than going to a setting to set your desired note length (which might change from project to project).

Okay thanks I will try this, hopefully will work. You are saying if I set the note length first before I press beat fill, it will print the beat fill in that way? I am not sure why I did not figure this out when I was playing with it. I will try !

I’m on vacation and I don’t have the Play with me, so maybe I’m wrong, but I hope this will work.

I finally tested this, and it works. I think we can archive this draft, then.
