I’m trying to use a Morningstar MC3 to send realtime start and stop messages to the Polyend Step.
I have the settings adjusted to receive transport commands. I have tried to use the USB and the Jack inputs. No response from the Step yet. Anyone tried this? Am I missing something obvious?
Update: I had no success with the 5-pin to 3.5 cable, nor the usb cable. I just found a 3.5 to 3.5 cable and it works! Still a mystery, but that’s all I needed.
I have to retry this again but i could swear i had done this sucsessfully in my first trys with Step.
Unfortunately 1/8" MIDI has both Type A and Type B variations. I can’t tell from the Step manual which one it supports, but if you had a five pin to 1/8" converter that was the wrong type that would explain why it didn’t work.
Polyend products are Midi Type B.
