What is the problem?
While “Edit Patch” is a lot simpler in 1.3 than it was before, a missing feature for me is the ability to control synth parameters such as filter cutoff and delay from an external midi controller. I can see the Play can be used to send MIDI CC to other devices like tracker, but it doesn’t appear capable of receiving.
What should this feature achieve?
I would really like to see the ability to map a knob on an external midi controller to the synth patch parameters or macros. It would allow such better expressive control and remove the requirement to menu dive to get to a single parameter.
Are there any workarounds?
Not really. Sometimes perform mode can provide some of this but I think dedicated mapped knobs on a midi controller would make things a lot simpler.
