MI Roto-Control 'Can control anything!'

But can it control the Play Plus? Just thinking, as a way to cut back on menu diving.
According to Google’s AI it can, but I have my doubts. I’m looking at purchasing a Roto-Control, but I don’t want to commit unless it helps with my Play Plus work flow.

Has anyone tried this? Or should I be the test subject?

that would be awesome but i guess it wont work .its not possible to control the play with midi ( you can control transport control but not the parameters or anything wlse )

Idk much about the roto-control, but I would say that it would only be able to control the same parameters as anything else due to the Play’s limited midi input. You’ll have transport, clock, and note input, that span across all the channels, but the CC mappings are for output only. If there are specific settings you’d like, you could always try redefining the macros on the synths or see if there’s a way to pull off what you’re looking for with the performance fx. There are quite a few feature requests that are vying for various ways to expand on midi input for the Play/+, so it never hurts to find one that resonates with you and casting a vote. Hope this helps!

click that. sold my unit couple of years ago after Polyend devalued the OG with Play+ release. In my wishes that start with «MIDI control over» (the administration said that I had to make separate threads, so there are three) I described how I wanted to use it hands-free with a guitar, but they decided to make a separate pedal instead (called Step). I really believe that Play still lacks midi input functionality just to sell Step (which has midi input just alright), otherwise that product won’t make sense. The last product I bought from this company.
